Central North Week of Golf 2010
38 Clubs represented - 175 golfers
Weather excellent – sunny and warm, [range
26 – 28 degrees].
Course was
beautifully presented with good fairway coverage and greens in excellent
condition.
The clubhouse, recently renovated with a new Dining area and
outdoor verandahs, has a great view over this parkland style Course.
Registration
was efficiently done by Website, but, did not include the traditional ‘meet and
greet’ session, which our veteran golfers have grown to expect as part of the
hospitality process. Nevertheless, a very enjoyable indoor BBQ was provided for
participants who mixed well amongst each other.
The
Presentation Dinner was attended by 120 participants, mostly visitors to the
area. It was a happy occasion for all with speeches from the Club President,
Lew Haslem, General Manager, Rick Watt and Richard Doyle, on behalf of NSWVGA.
The Club Captain, Ken Mundey, also spoke as part of his presentation of awards.
Daily prizes were provided by the Pro-Shop and comprised a
range of golf products, ranging across golf bags, Tee-shirts, iron covers, etc.
etc. The NSWVGA prizes were determined over 36 holes played on the Thursday
and Friday at Tamworth Golf Club.
An excellent baked dinner of local beef and chicken, with
baked vegetables, was served and greatly appreciated by all present. Sweets of
pavola, caramel and macadamia pie, cheesecake and ice cream complemented the
main course.
