Please understand fellow ‘veteran golfers’, the Tournament Co-ordinator is trying to assist everyone in keeping WOG events as near as practical to requested dates. This is especially important with issues such as club championships, green coring and other maintenance issue’s, there are 46 weeks of golf each year.
Before embarking on a full roll-out of tournament dates beyond 2007 Trevor Bell (NSWVGA Tournament Cordinator) emailed or posted correspondence to all Tournament Directors requesting urgent response where changes in dates were sought, or further information where a date change had been requested.
Around April each year the penultimate draft for the following years WOG program is posted, emailed to group secretaries and displayed on the website for 'everyone' to see and get back to their Tournament Directors or Group Secretaries before final acceptance.
Alas not many group secretaries do this, mostly because there has been little movement in dates over a long period of time and/or everybody was happy. Trevor can only work with the data before him, the executive individually and collectively keep in touch to validate any date movement or special ‘one-off’ requests. If individual groups have failed to respond then it is fair to say they "Have missed the boat", yet despite all this Trevor still tries to re-accommodate everyone. If you ignore correspondence or let it lay in office then you have to bear the consequences. Fortunately the majority understand and appreciate Trevor’s role and the effort he puts in, they still may have an issue to maintain, but they have been generous in acknowledging the problems involved.
Bearing all of the above in mind, especially the point of only hearing from X number of organisers Trevor has to proceed at some pre-determined time with the program and the dates are locked into place after all possible fixes/changes have been implemented.

The Rush is On
There has been a recent run of correspondence to the executive regarding dates for Week of Golf events, most of the letters
and emails recognised and complimented Trevor on his response to a very challenging task. One or two others got a bit
upset at missing out on their choice of dates because they did not respond to executive requests for information.
Trevor is still working his butt off trying to resolve several issues that should have been finalised months ago, if only we
had received some co-operation from one or two Tourmament Directors and Group Secretaries.
There is a bit more on the News page so the travelling veteran golfing community and local committees get some more
facts about why this is happening. We have to help each other out guys, so lets dig in and give Trevor a hand.
