2008 NSWVGA Matchplay Championships

In a stunning feat of achievement, the NSWVGA Matchplay Tournament was won by Tony Jones from Waratah. The event was played over the week of the 12^th-19^th May at Shellharbour Links, Grange and Port Kembla golf courses. The weather conditions remained favourable throughout the Tournament - much to delight of all players. Equally impressive was the ladies winner Marie Farrant from Jambaroo, who has been playing consistently well in recent times.

Sponsor of the event, Jason Allen from Australian Pensioner Equity Finance, congratulates all the players for attending “what looks like becoming a highly regarded event on the annual playing Calender”. He adds that “the success of the event can be attributed not only to the high quality of participants but also to the tournament director Dick Farrant and his team of assistants.
