ATTENDANCE: Average 157 players for shot gun starts each day
REGISTRATIION:on Sunday 12th October at Wagga Wagga Country Club, to confirm that shot gun starts from 9am each day was still on.
COURSES: Both Country Club and RSL were prepared in an excellent manner, both courses had preferred lies through the greens due to the very dry conditions. The courses are very different from each other providing a varied challenge to all visiting players.
NSWVGA TROPHIES: The two clubs agreed that our trophies should be played for as a 36 hole competition, 18 holes played at each course. This was a fair and equitable arrangement. The Clubs added a 3rd prize for ladies as player numbers were nearly equal.

DAILY HOSPITALITY: There is no Presentation Dinner, but each day we were treated to sausage sandwiches at both golf clubs. Presentations were made 2nd day at each club, commencing with Country Club, this was followed by light finger food for all players and guests. At RSL Golf Club the presentations were followed by a cold meat and salad buffet Both clubs were very generous in the provision of these meals.
Note. An impromptu survey declared resoundingly to continue the shot-gun start and not to have a presentation dinner.
SUMMARY: Both Tournament Directors Hugh Cladman (Country Club) and Norm McLennan (RSL) worked successfully together to make a great tournament, they made me very welcome and each time some one was on the microphone, I was acknowledged as the attending NSWVGA representative, I felt like a celebrity.
They were so happy to have a NSWVGA delegate play in the tournament, they openly presented me with the $2 player fee cheque at the conclusion of the presentations on Friday.
This is a very good tournament and I recommend it to all veteran golfers, it fits perfectly in the loop between Wodonga and Leeton / Narrandera. The shot gun starts are a feature they will try to uphold as they add to the friendliness of the competition.
