Comments and suggestions on the content of this website are very welcome, and should be addressed to <a href=\"mailto:webmaster@nswvga.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"webmaster@nswvga.com.au (opens in a new tab)\">webmaster@nswvga.com.au<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>NSW Veteran Golfers Association<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The New South Wales Veteran Golfers Association is an organisation established in the 1980s to create opportunities for mature men and women to play golf with others of similar age and mindset.\u00a0 It provides a platform for increased social interaction, fellowship, camaraderie and fun among members in a healthy environment.\u00a0 Members meet new people and make friends for life while playing some of the best courses in regional NSW.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nThe Association has over 15,000 members, many of whom enjoy fellowship and camaraderie at the Club, Group and State level. There are also \u00a050+ Weeks of Golf, and the 6 Championships played under the guidance of NSWVGA each year.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Group Activities<\/h3>\r\n<p>There are 31 Groups within the NSWVGA. Making up these 31 Groups are 250 + \u00a0\u201cBricks and Mortar\u201d veteran clubs who provide both local and group activities for the membership of NSWVGA.<\/p>\r\n<p>Group \u00a0activities are aimed at the Club veteran to engage in such golfing activities as local weekly competitions, \u00a0Open Days, inter club visits , Group Championships and above all a chance for the veterans of the group to enjoy golf, camaraderie and fellowship.<\/p>\r\n<p>NSWVGA support all of these activities by sponsoring the Championships and when required support\u00a0 initiatives to support the weaker clubs through the Grass Roots scheme.<\/p>\r\n<p>Visiting golfers are welcome to join the local vets and enjoy their hospitality.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Group Secretary is pivotal in the success of the Group.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Weeks of Golf<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Weeks of Golf started in the early 1980\u2019s, with Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Blue Mountains being among the earliest.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Weeks of Golf are normally held over 4 days, Monday to Friday, with Wednesday being a lay day.\u00a0 The format is different at each event but there is a mix of individual Stableford events and 2 or 4-person team events.\u00a0 The hospitality at these events is of the highest degree and you will certainly be made welcome by the locals.<\/p>\r\n<p>Venues on the coast range from Tweed Heads in the North to Eden in the South and inland from Rich River to Dubbo, Moree and Tenterfield and West to Broken Hill.<\/p>\r\n<p>See the Program for the full list of events <strong><em>on nswvga.com.au\/program<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Benefits of Membership<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>\u2022 Meet people from all walks of life and make lifetime friends.<br \/>\r\n\u2022 Enjoy the social interaction while playing at the many Veteran clubs throughout Australia. <br \/>\r\n\u2022 At Group level play all the courses with the Group and meet new members of the Group or renew old friendships<br \/>\r\n\u2022 Play some of the best golf courses in regional NSW at the veterans\u2019 Weeks of Golf.<br \/>\r\n\u2022 Experience new golfing destinations in other states.<br \/>\r\n\u2022 Experience playing in Australian Veteran Golfers Association Championships held annually.<br \/>\r\n\u2022 Enjoy the health benefits of regular exercise.
