The \"\"<\/a> INGENIA HOLIDAYS<\/span> NSWVGA MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS<\/strong> concluded on Friday 4 June with the final matches in all divisions and the Presentation Dinner at Nelson Bay Golf Club. The four rounds were played at Nelson Bay, Pacific Dunes and Horizons golf courses.<\/p>\r\n

There were 136 players in 9 divisions of Men\u2019s and Ladies, with keen competition in all matches, right to the last putt. With the competition format first brought back from America by Bob Coulson in 1988, all matches were contested between players with an identical win\/loss record. The winners and runners-up received generous prizes provided by NSWVGA, and thanks to our many sponsors, every player received a voucher for every match won. The one unfortunate person in each division not to win a match was also rewarded with a gift pack of golf balls from the three participating golf courses.<\/p>\r\n

The Men\u2019s Champion<\/strong> was Tony Southward<\/strong> from Charlestown<\/strong> who defeated Warren Gorton from Hawks Nest in the final.<\/p>\r\n

The Ladies Champion<\/strong> was Lyn Banks<\/strong> from Scone<\/strong> who defeated Wendy Gordon from Port Macquarie in the final.<\/p>\r\n
