Upper Hunter Week of Golf Report<\/strong>
\nDates: 21st March \u2013 25th March 2022
\nVenue: Muswellbrook Golf Club
\nTournament Director:<\/strong> Paul Gorman
\nWeather:<\/strong> Fine weather Monday and Tuesday, some rain Thursday, cloudy Friday but no rain.
\nThe Week<\/strong>
\nOn Sunday a registration and BBQ were held to welcome both travelling and local veteran golfers. TD Paul outlined the upcoming week\u2019s events, and it is this first contact with the players that sets the tone of the week, and this was done very well.
\nThe weeks numbers were down due to the flooding up north but still 61 visitors and 13 locals faced the starter for the week.
\nPaul and his committee are to be congratulated on their presentation of the week. They have had an extremely challenging year to date having lost their captain and covid diminishing their committee numbers.
\nMuswellbrook course was at its longest due to the recent flooding and continued rain, but the greenkeeper provided a course that was playable and enjoyable.
\nThe people in the background for the week, the bar staff, the kitchen, the Club Pro Paul Taylor and his mother all contributed to an excellent week.
\nMuswellbrook have very supportive local sponsorship and the sponsors are to be congratulated on their continued support of this event.
\nUnfortunately, a computer glitch effected presentations at the Luncheon on Thursday with all trophies presented except the 54-hole event which was completed on the Friday along with
\nthe 4 ball trophies.
\nAll in all, a great week and here\u2019s hoping that the numbers will increase next year by word of mouth from the visitors and promotion by Muswellbrook Vets.
