YAMBA WEEK OF GOLF<\/strong><\/span>
\n 14th to 18th August 2023 <\/strong>
\nTournament Director:<\/strong>
\nMike Grills who is also the President and Captain of Yamba Vets Committee, Ably assisted by Ken Hall, Bill Grainger, and a small but efficient Veterans support group.
\nCourse:<\/strong>
\nExcellent condition thanks to the grounds staff. This course is always a pleasure and a challenge.
\nRegistration:<\/strong>
\nA Meet and Greet session on Sunday evening was strongly supported with plenty of tasty snacks. The dinner table seating was available as were raffle boards and tickets for the major raffle which was drawn at the Presentation Dinner Thursday night.
\nWeather:<\/strong>
\nSunny days with strong coastal winds on the Friday.
\nPlayer Numbers:<\/strong>
\n114 Men 76 Ladies Total 190. 71 Clubs represented.
\nThree grades for Ladies and three grades for Men.
\nLocal sponsor Brendan Watkins, Goldsmith and Jewellers, provided a watch for a male and female player with the best scratch score on Monday.
\nThese were awarded to Russell Williams from Leongatha and Rhonda Buizen from Terrey Hills.
\nPresentation Dinner:<\/strong>
\nWell attended by most of the winners and a lot of cheering for the Clubs represented.
\nA short speech by NSWVGA Rep Penny outlining the latest news items from the Association. Also encouraging listeners to consider travelling to Western towns to enjoy their weeks of golf and hospitality.
\nComments:<\/strong>
\nThis tournament is a favourite for many Veteran golfers and filled early. This is one Week of Golf where the entry form needs to be returned as soon as placed on the website.
