Griffith Week of Golf
\n22nd Oct \u2013 27th Oct<\/strong>
\nThe welcome function and registration were held at the Griffith Leagues Club on Sunday 22nd from 4.30pm. This is the second year we have held this function at the Leagues Club, and it has proved to be an outstanding success. Most players attended and had a good time caching up with old acquaintances and making new ones. Trays of nibbles were delivered to each table and guests enjoyed the \u201cno need to queue\u201d service.
\nThe weather for the week was ideal with cool starts and pleasant days. The course was beautifully prepared thanks to our 2 green staff and the many volunteers or dedicate their time and effort to maintaining the site. The scores reflected the challenge with many good scores but many more not up to the player expectations. The wind picked up on Thursday afternoon and heightened the challenges on the quick greens, but we made it through. If golf wasn\u2019t such a challenge, we wouldn\u2019t enjoy it as much as we do. Fridays 4BBB was a shotgun start at 9am and was followed by a beautifully prepared 3 course lunch and presentation.
\nIn all we hosted 148 players made up of 53 locals and 95 visitors.
\n57 Ladies and 91 men representing 40 clubs tested their skills on the beautifully maintained course.
