Vets Golf Charity Day at Grafton, 11.7.24<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week, the Grafton Oncology Unit benefitted $950 from the generosity of visiting Veteran golfers involving 25 players. The day was organised, at the behest of John Kieley, Lee Daley and husband John Daley.<\/p>\n

Following golf, Sheree (Lee\u2019s Care Nurse), spoke about her charity I\u2019M RIDING TO FIGHT KIDS\u2019 CANCER. She urged listeners to check her site and give to aid the research of cancer in children.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0Nikki, Director of the Grafton Oncology Unit, gave a heart-warming talk about the intense and emotional work of their unit.<\/p>\n

The golf and talks were followed by a fire pit, pizza and presentation back at the showground.<\/p>\n

The opening activity was a healthy sausage sizzle at the Daley household on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

The girl on <\/span>Lee\u2019s<\/span> right is Cherie Shiels who works in the oncology unit at Grafton Base Hospital and oversaw much of <\/span>Lee\u2019s<\/span> immunotherapy treatment. <\/span>Cherie<\/span> cycles whenever she can as part of the Great Cycle Challenge which raises money to help fund the fight against childhood cancer. <\/span><\/p>\n

The lady on <\/span>Lee\u2019s<\/span> left is Kerri-Anne Falla, the <\/span>Grafton O<\/span>ncology<\/span> U<\/span>nit <\/span>M<\/span>anager. They are raising funds for a machine that can find veins normally undirected. This machine costs $25.000! So <\/span>far,<\/span> they have raised about $15.000. <\/span><\/p>\n

Both worthwhile causes and both were very appreciative of the donations<\/span> received from the <\/span>Grafton 3 <\/span>P<\/span>erson Ambrose event<\/span> held <\/span>July 11, organised by John <\/span>Keiley and John Daley<\/span>.<\/span>Receipt attached.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lee<\/span>\u2019s big<\/span>gest <\/span>challenge now is overcoming the immense tiredness<\/span> she feels<\/span> because of<\/span> the medication.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is thankful for the support of her golfing friends and her <\/span>\u2018Bindi <\/span>E<\/span>ye Club\u2019. Her <\/span>live in<\/span> cleaner and cook, John, <\/span>has<\/span>become a <\/span>Sadie the Cleaning Lady<\/span> and Curtis <\/span>Stone<\/span> wrapped up in one<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lee\u2019s <\/span>Tagalong<\/span> friends<\/span> look forward to her returning to her role as <\/span>catalyst and Mother <\/span>H<\/span>en to the<\/span> next <\/span>Tou<\/span>r.
