MACLEAY VALLEY WEEK OF GOLF. <\/strong>
\n1ST to 5TH SEPTEMBER 2025 <\/strong>
\nTournament Director:<\/strong> Frank Ryan. Ably assisted by Chris Hudson, Bob Hogan, Bruce Thomas, Peter Garty, Sue Webster and the Vets Committees.
\nRegistration:<\/strong> Held at Kempsey Golf Club from 1pm to 4pm. Savoury nibbles were provided throughout the afternoon.
\nRaffle tickets were sold. Draws for the week were displayed. Very generous sample bags were given to each player. An outline of Fridays scorecards included.
\nCommittee members in attendance.<\/strong> Unregistered NSWVGA players were checked.
\nCourses Played:<\/strong> All Courses were different layouts which made it an interesting week.<\/p>\n

Kempsey:<\/strong> Course in good condition and very green as a result of recent rain. A few muddy places but preferred lies through the green. Greens excellent. Weather fine.<\/p>\n

Frederickton:<\/strong> A nine-hole course played twice and a challenging course. Beautiful gardens. Good condition greens. Preferred lies. Fredo frogs provided Tuesday and Wednesday along with scones and cream. Again BBQ lunch available to purchase. Weather fine.<\/p>\n

South West Rocks:<\/strong> Course in good condition and greens great. Preferred lies again. Very few muddy spots. The water traps caught a few players out. Morning tea available and BBQ lunch to purchase. As it was Legacy week the RSL provided nourishing snacks and samples Thursday and Friday to keep the spirit going. Much appreciated to the volunteers from the RSL.
\nWeather<\/strong> fine but windy Thursday and Friday.
\nScorecards<\/strong> were distributed on the tee each morning along with bananas and mandarins to take.
\nPlayer numbers:<\/strong> Total players 210 after 30 cancellations. 58 players from the three local clubs. 128 males. 82 ladies.
\n58 Clubs represented.
\nPresentation Dinner:<\/strong> Held at the South West Rocks Country Club. Approx 180 people in attendance. A delicious meal served. Tournament Director kept the crowd amused and presentations were well organised.
\nNSWVGA Shields:<\/strong> The Shield day was at Kempsey club on Monday.<\/strong>
