Entries are now open for the 23rd Young Cherry Festival Veterans week of golf.

The week is held annually in the third week in November commencing on Sunday 15th and is definitely on this year.

Festivities begin on Sunday afternoon with a welcoming wine tasting and social get together.

Interest is high with a good number of enquiries being received from intending first time visitors.

It is about 4.5 months till hit off time and entries are NOW open.

The entry form/program is available on the Young Golf Club website or on the 2020 Program page of this website and maybe printed off or emailed.

Alternatively, a phone call (0458 933 248) or email ( to Craig Watson will ensure you receive the form in the mail. All players from last year can expect to receive their entry form in the post shortly.

The amalgamation of the Golf Club and the Young Services club has a dynamic committee in place to ensure all attending will have a most enjoyable week of golf and friendship.

Recent playing restrictions has seen the local volunteers doing great work on new cartways and hazards whilst the green staff has continued to work diligently on course maintenance.

Indications from local cherry growers say that the district will enjoy a good cherry harvest and there will be plenty of orchards to visit and ‘pick your own’ cherries or purchase at farm gate price.

The entry fee of $140.00 per player is all inclusive including the Friday night presentation dinner. Players wishing to visit briefly to play one or two days will be welcome. Golf carts will be available.

We now have a bistro/restaurant operating within the clubhouse and meals and snacks will be available.

Players who have been in hibernation or missed attending earlier weeks of golf that were cancelled will be very welcome.

Enquiries regarding accommodation should perhaps be directed to the tourist information centre on
