Lake Macquarie Classic Vets Week of Golf: 7-11 June 2021

Posted on: 26 September

There are plenty of exciting things happening at Toronto Golf Club……. As well as changing its name (from Toronto Country Club) and redesigning a new contemporary logo, our $1.1 million Golf Driving Range opened in early September and is proving to be a very popular draw-card.

But the most exciting news is that our Lake Macquarie Classic Vets’ Week of Golf will be held from 7-11 June 2021! The Tournament Director has promised that nothing short of a major earthquake or tsunami will stop this popular event from going ahead! COVID-safe contingency plans and precautions are currently being organised, ready to be implemented if required, thus allowing our “Meet & Greet” and “Presentation Lunch” to go ahead!

Substantial sponsorship has been secured and prizes will be generous and plentiful and, for the first time, a Scratch Stableford prize will be included so that our low-markers have a better chance to score a win! At our registration / “Meet & Greet” on Sunday 6th June, all Entrants will receive a “Welcome Gift Bag” with lots of goodies.

The 3 “Golden Girls” (aka the Committee) are working hard to guarantee our Vets’ Week of Golf is also a memorable and fun-filled time for all. You may spot our mystery guest “Dexter” around the golf course so keep an eye out for him!!! There will be a Putting Competition after golf each day where $$ can be won if you are skilled enough to hole a putt, if not, the $$ will jackpot daily. We have also included two Major Raffles which will be held during the week with amazing golf prizes to win!! For our visitors who would like to see a bit of the famous Hunter Valley, on our Wednesday lay-day, a Winery Day Tour is being organised. We are even incorporating a huge Seafood Raffle from 4.00pm on our lay-day also! So prepare to be impressed and entertained!

Last but not least, included in our 2021 Programme, brothers Darren and Nathan Green will be running their golf clinics. If you haven’t had an opportunity to hone your skills and learn from these guy’s, this is your opportunity!

We look forward to meeting new and familiar friends!

Kind regards Narene, Louise and Linda – the “Golden Girls”.
