Tommy Tyne turns 100

Posted on: 10 September

Tommy Tyne, a long time member of South West Rocks Veterans Golf Club, celebrated his 100th birthday with many golfers, community representatives and family members at the South West Rocks Country Club on Wednesday 2nd September.

Tommy, centre of photo, alongside NSWVGA President, Ian Vidler and South West Rocks Veterans President, John Burge, plays golf with the Vets every Wednesday in the 11 hole competition. The members speak highly of Tommy as a wonderful person who is still as “sharp as a tack.”

A Certificate from NSWVGA was presented to Tommy in recognition of his support of veteran golf which has played a major role in his longevity. As his granddaughter said to me, “he just loves his golf.”
