Great Lakes Week Of Golf – Results
Posted on: 31 May
Held at: Tuncurry, Foster – from 17 May to 21 May 21 – Tournament Director: Martin Salt
Over 120 veteran golfers were greeted by cool mornings and bright sunny days for the 2nd Great Lakes “Evermore” week of golf. We welcomed golfers from Stradbroke in Qld to Heidelberg in Vic, and just about all points in between!
3 rounds of Stableford, Monday at Tuncurry, Tuesday at Forster and Thursday at Tuncurry were played for the overall championship whilst the NSWVGA shield was 36 holes at Forster and Tuncurry, a 2BBB on Friday at Forster rounded off the week.
Golfers were welcomed every day with tea and coffee. Blueberry muffins and choc chip cookies were home made by our ‘baker’ Dom Fania. A BBQ lunch was available each day consisting of hamburger, chicken burger or steak sandwich cooked by our ‘chef’ Ray Walker and his band of lovely ladies.
Dinner and presentation on Thursday night was at Forster Clubhouse with dinner supplied by Ashleigh and Luke and served by their most capable staff, MC was Mick Stone and music by Tony George.
Daily prizes were presented by Shannon and Dave from Priceline, NSWVGA shield presented by Aileen Williams and the major 54 hole championship presented by Richard on behalf of our major sponsor Evermore Retirement Living, Forster.
My sincere thanks to all who participated because without you there is no week of golf.
