Upper Hunter Week of Golf Report
Dates: 21st March – 25th March 2022
Venue: Muswellbrook Golf Club
Tournament Director: Paul Gorman
Weather: Fine weather Monday and Tuesday, some rain Thursday, cloudy Friday but no rain.
The Week
On Sunday a registration and BBQ were held to welcome both travelling and local veteran golfers. TD Paul outlined the upcoming week’s events, and it is this first contact with the players that sets the tone of the week, and this was done very well.
The weeks numbers were down due to the flooding up north but still 61 visitors and 13 locals faced the starter for the week.
Paul and his committee are to be congratulated on their presentation of the week. They have had an extremely challenging year to date having lost their captain and covid diminishing their committee numbers.
Muswellbrook course was at its longest due to the recent flooding and continued rain, but the greenkeeper provided a course that was playable and enjoyable.
The people in the background for the week, the bar staff, the kitchen, the Club Pro Paul Taylor and his mother all contributed to an excellent week.
Muswellbrook have very supportive local sponsorship and the sponsors are to be congratulated on their continued support of this event.
Unfortunately, a computer glitch effected presentations at the Luncheon on Thursday with all trophies presented except the 54-hole event which was completed on the Friday along with
the 4 ball trophies.
All in all, a great week and here’s hoping that the numbers will increase next year by word of mouth from the visitors and promotion by Muswellbrook Vets.

Sheree Piskorz from Muswellbrook with 34 points.

Julie Leckie from Scone with 33 points on a countback.
