Weather
Mon, Tue, beautiful New England autumn weather ,trees are so full of colour giving a great contrast to the green fairways. Thursday wet and miserable, such a shame and Friday was just OK.
Course
Best ever, spoke to long time locals and they informed me they have never seen the course look this good, direct contrast to 3 years ago when it was in drought.The greens staff finally have had something to work with and have taken full advantage of the good conditions.
Numbers
Majority of players were local, only 21 visitors in a field of 68 players. Friday’s 2 person Ambrose 48 players.
Golf Report
Vet’s Week Of Golf
Armidale hosted their annual Vet’s week of golf with competitions over 4 days.
Monday the week started with  a foursomes event and the winners were Eric Archer and Nev Pearson with nett 71. Carmel Truscott and Liz O’Hara were the ladies winners with nett 72.
Tuesday was the 1st day of the 36 hole stableford event and the daily winner for the men was Roger Dance with 38 points from Chris Rose with 34 points. Meg Fisher was the ladies winner with 36 points.
Thursday was the 2nd round of the 36 hole stableford event and the winner was Robert Orchard with 40 points from Steve Creagan with 37 points. The ladies winner was Jenny Weston with 36 points.
The 36 hole stableford winner was Robert Orchard from Ballina with 70 points from Steve Creagan with 69 points on a countback from Roger Dance.
The ladies winner was Meg Fisher with 66 points from Annie Waters with 64 points.
Friday finished the week with a 2 person ambrose and the winners with a great score of nett 57 were Greg Fisher and Michael McIlveen.
