Retirement From Golf
Posted on: 4 May
The following is a note received from Thelma and Ross Bartlett
Just a note to thank you all for the wonderful farewell we received at Inverell.
We were deeply moved, emotions stilled my tongue.
Participating in VETERAN GOLF is much more than just sport, for we have been PRIVILEGED for 30 years to have walked and talked with the living history of our land.
We have been BLESSED to have been part of their lives and to have heard of dreams fulfilled and others dashed; to see the love songs and war maps of their past engraved in cheek and brow, in strong Brown hands once callused.
Our lives are FOREVER ENRICHED by the friendships and experiences in our 30 year journey, and will remain an indelible memory, for it is the journey, not the destination that has made who we are.
We give HEART FELT THANKS to the V.G.A for providing the vehicle that has given us and others so much fulfilment in the later years of our lives, and we pray for its longevity.
For many of us it is indeed, our last arena. With a prayer for your good health
Farewell from
Ross and Thel
