The Dubbo Week of Golf was held from Monday September 19 to Friday September 23. There were fewer starters than in previous years with about 160 players teeing off during the week.
Welcome drinks were had on Sunday afternoon from 4pm to 6pm at the club. Any player who was able to attend was given a free drink, their sample bag, an opportunity to clarify any questions and the opportunity to socialise with friends.
On Monday and Tuesday there was a 36 hole event with prizes awarded for winners on each day and overall winners. There were about 140 starters each day. Winners are listed below.
Unfortunately, Wednesday was wet with about 25mm of rain. The course was already very heavy with areas sodden from previous rain. The rain meant that the course superintendent had to close the course to carts on Thursday and Friday which significantly diminished the number of players. However, it was excellent to note how many players were able to complete 18 holes each day.

Players were directed on Thursday to new groups which resulted in 48 men and 25 women (73 starters) playing 18 holes on a very wet course. Everyone was in good spirits. Tees were set forward making the play much more accessible for the vets.
Despite the wet, the course was in excellent condition and greens played true.
Friday was the 18 hole Ambrose with 76 starters. There was a prize pool of $500 for this event which was won by a local/visitor pairing.
After the Ambrose was the presentation lunch. There were 110 people who attended the lunch including sponsors. The lunch was a great success. We are very grateful for the support of sponsors. The club president and mayor also attended.
