We welcome new councillors Charlie, Bob and our first lady councillor, Penny.
The new committee congratulated out going councillors, Gerry Cox and Lance Fredericks for their contributions over the past years.
2 New Members With the ever increasing need for verification at venues it is recommended by NSWVGA that any signing up of new members be done only after sighting proof of age which is 55 yrs for both men and ladies.
NOTE : To participate in any event held under the banner of NSWVGA all players MUST be a member of NSWVGA, which includes ladies even though they may be members of the lady vets.
3 Member Data Base The updated data base program is very close to being implemented.
In the new year, I will canvas Group Secs on who in the group should/will be given access for
data changing and paying of annual subscriptions.
4. Policy 2 This NSWVGA Policy covers the “ Requirements for the Conduct of NSWVGA WOG and Responsibilities of TD,s “ and has been updated. John Daley has sent the updated copy to all 2023 TD’s. I have attached a copy for GS. To assist TD’s in getting a consistency with information in WOG programs TD’s are asked to forward a draft copy to either John Daley or myself for checking before they are printed or placed on the web.
5 NSWVGA Medal and 4 Ball. The NSWVGA hopes that more groups will take up the offer of their group playing for the medals in 2023. I sent out information re these with last newsletter. If you did not receive this please contact me and I will send it to you.
6 Affiliation Fees for 2023. These are due to be paid by December 31st.
7 Technical Assistant The webmaster is asking for a technical assistant. If there is anybody who is good with IT but doesn’t want to commit to a position on the NSWVGA but wouldn’t mind assisting with the up keep of the member data base please contact the web master for information on how you could help. webmaster@nswvga.com
8 Public Website A number of people have found it difficult to access the NSWVGA website Please inform members of your group the address nswvga.com.au should be typed into address bar for ease of access.
Finally, on behalf of the NSWVGA, I would like to thank each of the group secretaries, group and club committees and tournament directors for the job you have done this year and what you will do in 2023. The NSWVGA is a voluntary organisation and would not exist without people being willing to put up there hand to do the work. Job well done
WISHING EVERYBODY A MERRY XMAS AND A HEALTHY 2023
Yours
Jim Shadlow
NSWVGA Liaison Councillor
