2023 Riverina Challenge
The Riverina Challenge involves the three Riverina Weeks of Golf: Deniliquin, Leeton and Griffith. A prize is awarded to the visitor with the highest total of the three Tuesday scores at the three events. The 2022 winners were Rhonda Robertson from Gosford and Michael Miller from Antill Park. Rhonda scored 72 points, well ahead of Geraldine Turner who came second. Michael’s 69 points beat Trevor Topp from Nambucca Head on 66.
Weather conditions created chaos for the organisers and players. Travelling golfers were forced to find alternate activities for many of the wet days. Tourist attractions, coffee shops and wineries around Griffith were abuzz when Griffith Week of Golf was cancelled at the last minute because of the constant deluge.
Riverina Tournament Directors were very appreciative of and thankful for the tolerance and flexibility of visiting players, and just about guarantee better weather for 2023 Weeks of Golf in the Riverina.
