SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS VETERAN GOLFERS ASSOCIATION WEEK OF GOLF –
NOVEMBER 13TH TO 17TH 2023
The SHVGA 33rd week of golf had on average 125 players each day playing some very good golf at four very well presented courses.
Throughout the event two golfers achieved Holes in One and thanks to sponsors each received a bonus $100 Prize.
Throughout registration 22 players had to cancel for various reasons such as health or unplanned surgeries and were reimbursed their entry fees in full.
In all 129 players registered from 46 individual golf clubs from Port Arlington in Victoria to Gainsborough Greens and Rockhampton in Queensland, with NSW and the ACT also well represented.
The weather was kind , producing sunny days and not too much wind.
My apologies to those who had to be moved around to satisfy a high demand for golf carts, but it all worked out in the end with everyone catered for.
We have a great committee in the Southern Highlands led by our President Mike Bolton. I would like to thank them for the fantastic work they put into the lead up and during the event.
I would also like to thank the staff at Highlands, Bowral, Moss Vale and Mount Broughton golf clubs who went the extra mile to help us in so many ways.

(Tournament Director)
TOURNAMENT DETAILS

As a result and in accordance with NSWVGA policy No.2 re the conduct of WOG events and in the spirit of sharing good fortune, participants could only win one major prize during the event and in cases where they won more than one prize were awarded the one of higher value.

Our last day saw a few cancellations and a different style of golf course at Mount Broughton.
A long course with large greens and unforgiving rough.
The event was a best ball with again some very good golfing conditions.
In fact conditions were very good for Louis Roren who was able to score a Hole in One on the 10th hole.
