Murwillumbah Week of Golf  29^th  July to 2^nd August Week of Golf 29th August to 2nd September

Murwillumbah welcomed 128 players from 57 clubs to a week of cool but clear and beautiful days of golf. Monday and Friday were team games (4BBB and 2 person Ambrose respectively) while the NSWVGA Shield were held on Tuesday and Thursday.
The course was in excellent condition thanks to Brian Cox the head greenkeeper and his crew for their work on the course. Also, thanks go to the committee and volunteers who helped run the weeks activities.
Thanks also goes to Elders Realestate for their sponsorship of the Hole-in-One challenge.
Jim Shadlow was the NSWVGA representative and provided some valuable advice on running a week of golf for the new tournament director – thank you Jim.
The 2024 Shield winners were:
The LADIES’ MURWILLUMBAH SHIELD was won by Kathy Weber from Everglades with a score of 77 pts

The MENS NSWVGA SHIELD was won by Jeff Hogan from Redlands with a score of 74 pts.

Ladies
2nd – Trish George from Belmont with 73 pts
2nd – Robyn Hale from Coolangatta/Tweed with 73 pts
Men
2nd – Mark Milton from Pacific Harbour Qld with 71 pts
3rd – Fred Kath from Axedale Vic with 70 pts
3rd – Chris Rose from Ballina with 70 pts
There are multiple place getters as Murwillumbah Vets does not run a countback system.
Congratulations to the winners and to all the other Veterans, both Men and Ladies, who travelled to Murwillumbah to compete.
