Fine weather each day made for some good scoring by many players on each of the days. Fridays 4Ball, with a shotgun start, was perfectly timed so that all players were able to finish before the afternoon rains came.
163 individual players participated throughout the week representing 46 different Golf Clubs from Qld and NSW. Players came from as far north as Beaudesert in Qld, south to Nowra and west to Grenfell with a host of players from the Hunter and coastal regions. Whilst many players were participants from previous years, it was pleasing to see the number of first time players to the event and to hear the positive feedback that was received.
Tamworth and Longyard Veteran golfers provided good support to the event.
Fields were 130 on Monday, 132 on Tuesday, 112 on Thursday and a full field of 120 players for the Friday 4 Ball with the shotgun start.
Friday players enjoyed a sausage sizzle luncheon preceding the Presentation.
NSWVGA President John Daley was on hand to present the Lady prize-winner’s, with Councillor Jim Shadlow presenting the prizes for the Men, checking the eligibility of players and presenting the NSWVGA Shields to the Male and Female winners. Councillor Charlie Swyer was also in attendance.

Numbers for the event were down slightly on last years numbers, however the uncertainty of Cyclone Alfred in Southern Qld and Northern NSW made for hesitation in attending from some players in those regions. Allowing for this though the event was very successful and players enjoyed the competition and comradery throughout the week.
