NSWVGA LIFE MEMBERSHIP FOR COUNCILLOR JOHN DIXON

The NSWVGA AGM was held in Sydney on 3rd December 2025.
This was a special meeting as retiring Councillor John Dixon from Dubbo NSW was honoured with Life Membership of the New South Wales Veteran Golfers Association for his outstanding service to Veteran golf in the state of New South Wales.
John Dixon was elected to the Council of the Association in 2013, providing constant guidance and advice in the conduct of all activities of the Association, and especially in the conduct of the Weeks of Golf programs.
John has provided advice and encouragement to many veteran members across the 13 clubs which make up Group 29 – and has travelled many thousands of kilometres and attended hundreds of hours in meetings in this pursuit.
John’s experience and expertise through his various executive roles at Dubbo Golf Club has also guided Policy development and Financial considerations of NSWVGA over his years on the Council.
John is currently a Director of Dubbo Golf Club and a former Vice President and Captain of Dubbo Golf Club.
John has been the Tournament Director for the NSWVGA Championships for the past three years and a Tournament Director for many successful Dubbo Weeks of Golf.
John is a past president of Dubbo Veteran Golfers association and held this position for eight years. A membership of 240 members.
In 2010 John was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Australian Veteran Golfers Union for services to Veteran Golf in NSW.
In 2014 John was awarded Life membership of Dubbo Veteran Golfer Association.
The Council of NSWVGA owes a great debt of gratitude to John Dixon for his outstanding service to Veteran Golf in this state and accordingly John has been awarded Life Membership of the Association.
