The 2026 Central West Vets Week of Golf was held at Wentworth, Bathurst and Duntryleague Golf Courses from March 2nd to March 6th. A full field of 212 players from 72 different clubs in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland entered comprising 128 men and 84 Women.
Registration day at Wentworth on Sunday 1ST March was very well attended. Thanks to John Daley and Jim Shadlow for sorting out non NSWVGA members and signing them up. There were around 140 unpaid entrants to start with, as group databases were not complete or subscription fees had not been transferred to the NSWVGA.
Monday was the first round of the 54 hole tournament and the NSWVGA 18 hole event. Tuesday was washed out at Bathurst due to constant and heavy rain. Fortunately we were able to transfer this to Wednesday and a full 18 holes were played. Thank you to Bathurst.
Thursday was the final round of the 54 holes and was played at Duntryleague. There were a couple of storms in the afternoon but everyone completed the 18 holes without too much inconvenience.
From the many positive comments from many people the week was enjoyed very much and there was much enjoyment on show on Thursday night at the Presentation Dinner/Dance. Our entertainer ELVIS was once again in fine voice and had everyone up on the dance floor again – thanks Terry. 240 people were in attendance, including representatives from our generous sponsors, the Mayor of Orange City Council, the President and CEO of the Orange Ex-Services’ Club and the two lovely ladies from Everly Jewellers.
Finally, none of this would be possible without the wonderful staff at the three courses and clubs. The assistance from the clubs was invaluable and helped make this a memorable event for everyone and we thank them for it.
