Shoalhaven Week of Golf 9-13 February 2026

Playing Numbers
Each day, the number playing was near optimum of 132 golfers. One third of the field were women. Of the 154 Entries (counting withdrawals ) 50 were from the Shoalhaven ( ie Group 2 – Mid South Coast VGA), 94 from other NSW regions, 9 from Queensland and one Victorian. The predominant club featured was Sussex Inlet with 23 starters, followed by Cootamundra with 10.
Demand for cart hire was high, and host clubs had to access private carts to meet the needs of players.
Weather was generally good, although players at Worrigee were subject to several showers during their round.
Very good support in running the Shoalhaven Week of Golf was provided by the host clubs – Shoalhaven Heads, St Georges Basin, Worrigee Links and Nowra.

The best women’s score over 54 Holes

 She received artwork featuring Nowra Golf Course and donated by Col Darley.
Over the week, prize vouchers of value $3235 (including $400 from NSWVGA) were distributed, together with vouchers of $990 from the host clubs for the Nearest the Pin winners, and 44 dozen golf balls to every player in lieu of ball run down. Special awards were also given to Susan Miller and Christine Bright (eagles) and Ken Wills (hole in one).
