Muree 2023 Trial Week of Golf
8th – 12th May
Muree’s inaugural Week of Golf – 8th – 12th May 2023
Tournament Director – Betty Ritchie, and assisted by many volunteers.
Our small, but manageable field of 45 came from near and far – Leongatha, Ballina, Ocean Shores, Tallebudgera, Nelson Bay, Kew, Pacific Dunes, Sussex Inlet, Kurri Kurri, Hawks Nest, Denman, Merriwa, Goulburn, Mundubbera, Inverell, Grafton, Maitland, Muree.
Players braved a blustery and icy Monday, but had beautiful crisp, sunny autumn days for the rest of the week.
NSWVGA rep was Aileen Williams. Week of golf was also attended by John Daley, Dave Flatt and Jim Shadlow.
Monday’s 2bbb Stableford event results
Winners were Michael Cumming (Muree) and Julie Berick (Kew) with 51 pts
Second place were Dianne and Graeme Boyd (Ocean Shores) with 46 pts
Runner ups were Dianne and Jim Shadlow (Inverell) with 42 pts

Tuesday men’s stableford event winners – 1st round 36 hole event
1st place div1 was John Daley (Grafton) with 38 pts
1st place div 2 was Wayne Brown (Muree) with 35 pts
2nd place div 1 was Rob Orchard (Ballina) with 35 pts
2nd place div 2 was Graeme Boyd (Ocean Shores) with 35 pts
3rd place div 1 was Nigel Watler (Sussex Inlet) with 34 pts

Specialty award goes to Julie Berick for hitting the 1st duck in “the gut” and the 2nd duck in “the butt”.
Next year Julie Berick, the ducks will be wearing armour.
