Great Lakes 2024 Week Of Golf
Report by Martin
Well didn’t we miss a bullet!!! Whilst the rain was falling on the weekend I had 14 phone calls concerning a possible cancellation, but my greenkeeper assured me there would be no rain during the week. How right he was! Although we did have cancellations, 140 golfers took to the fairways under sunshine all week.
Morning tea was served by Ray and John and once again goodies were baked fresh every day by Dom Fania.
All 4 days were transferred to Tuncurry because of the likelihood of carts not being allowed on Forster course.
Rego was at Forster clubhouse with finger food supplied and players able to get their tee times for the week.
As mentioned Tuncurry was the venue for 3 days of Stableford and 4BBB on Friday, the course was in magnificent condition for the time of year. A big thankyou to Mark Spraggs and his team.
Once again NSWVGA Secretary Aileen Williams was our rep, replacing President John Daly whose wife Lee has been unwell.
Presentation dinner was held on Thursday night at Forster club ably emceed by ex rugby league referee Mick Stone.

A massive thankyou to all our sponsors, without you we could not have a week of golf.
Lastly a huge thanks to all players that attended because, again, without your participation every year we could not put on the week.
